Amber and her new husband decided to make their marriage official close to home before the celebrations moved abroad. With family and friends set to join them for a second ceremony in Ibiza, the couple wanted to complete the formalities with the registrar here in Glasgow first, and to mark the moment properly with a day to remember.
The morning began in Blantyre, where we collected Andy and Josh, before making our way to a townhouse in Hamilton. From there the day flowed towards Crossbasket Castle, the setting for both the ceremony and the photographs. It is a place that lends itself beautifully to the camera, and the late-August sunshine did the rest.
Two cars for two moods
The couple chose a pairing that gave the day real presence. The white 1930s-style Beauford Tourer brought a touch of classic elegance, its open top perfect for the warm weather and the arrival at the castle. Alongside it, the silver Chrysler Baby Bentley added a smart, contemporary note for the wider party. Both arrived dressed with ribbons and silk flowers, with a complimentary glass of bubbly waiting for the newlyweds.
After the service and photographs, there was time for a few relaxed drinks at Rocca before the return to Crossbasket for a warm family reception and dinner. It was an unhurried afternoon, exactly the kind of gentle pace that lets a couple actually enjoy their guests.
Glasgow first, Ibiza next
With the Glasgow chapter complete, Amber and her husband are heading to Ibiza to celebrate all over again with everyone who matters most. It is a lovely way to do things, a quiet, elegant beginning at home followed by a bigger party abroad, and we were glad to be part of the Scottish half of the story.
