The morning began in Lanark, where Tammie and Brendan were married at St Mary's Catholic Church. It is a beautiful setting, and the day carried a real sense of occasion from the very start.
For their transport they chose our white Beauford Tourer, the 1930s-style convertible, alongside three of our silver Mercedes V Class people-carriers. The Beauford gave Tammie and Brendan an elegant, classic arrival, while the V Class cars kept the wider party moving comfortably between Lanark and the celebration. As with every booking, the cars arrived dressed with ribbons and silk flowers, with bubbly waiting for the couple and smartly dressed chauffeurs on hand ahead of pick-up.
An afternoon at Crossbasket Castle
The party then made its way to Crossbasket Castle, a place steeped in history. The castle dates back to 1440, and its architecture is genuinely striking. The chapel there, built over a hundred years ago, made a stunning backdrop for the couple's ceremony.
There were smaller, unexpected pleasures too. Cows grazing in the field beside the castle added a gentle, unhurried charm to the grounds, a reminder of just how peaceful the setting is. Against the grey August skies, the castle and its surroundings felt all the more atmospheric.
Looking ahead
With the celebrations behind them, Tammie and Brendan have a trip to Paris to look forward to. It was, by every measure, a lovely day had by all, and we were glad to be a small part of it.
