Patricia clearly took her weather planning seriously. There is an old folklore tradition that says burying a sausage in the garden will keep the rain away on your wedding day. Rather than trust a single sausage to do the job, Patricia buried six, just in case. Whether it was the folklore or simple good fortune, it worked. The rain stayed away, the sun even broke through at points during the day, and the whole thing came together exactly as they had hoped.
Getting everyone there
Three of our chauffeurs looked after Patricia and Ryan on the day: Andy, Stevie and Josh. Between them they made sure everyone arrived on time and in comfort. Andy took the wedding party to St Bridget's in Baillieston for the ceremony, before the celebrations moved on to the Strathaven Hotel.
The couple chose a combination of cars to suit the different parts of the day. The white 1930s-style Beauford Tourer brought a touch of vintage elegance, the Mercedes V-Class kept the wider party together and comfortable, and the silver Chrysler Baby Bentley added its own quiet sense of occasion. Each car arrived dressed with ribbons and flowers, ready for photographs and the short journeys between venues.
A small moment to remember
Among all the planning and the good weather, there was one lovely detail that seemed to sum the day up. As Patricia stood with her flowers, a butterfly settled on her bouquet, the kind of small, unexpected moment that stays with a couple long after the day itself.
From the ceremony at St Bridget's to the reception at the Strathaven Hotel, everything ran smoothly and calmly, which is exactly what we hope for. It was a genuine pleasure for Andy, Stevie and Josh to be part of Patricia and Ryan's day, and to help carry them through a summer wedding that came together beautifully.
