The morning began with two pick-ups. The groom's party were collected first in our eight-passenger Mercedes V-Class, while Beth and her bridal party gathered at the luxury lodges at Ingliston Estate & Country Club. There, the cars waited: the classic white Beauford Tourer for Beth, dressed with the classic white ribbon she had chosen, and a second V-Class to carry the rest of the party.
With the sun out and the mood high, it was a 25-minute drive into Glasgow to the University Memorial Chapel, one of the city's most striking places to marry. By the time the wedding cars arrived, the guests had already taken their seats inside, leaving Beth to make her entrance to a chapel full of familiar faces, ready to meet Shaun at the front.
A drive through the heart of Glasgow
The Beauford is made for days like this one. With good weather overhead and the ribbon fluttering at the front, the run from Ingliston to the chapel set the right tone before the ceremony, calm and unhurried, with everyone arriving exactly when they should.
Photographs and the return to Ingliston
After the ceremony, the couple took time for photographs at the cloisters, the vaulted walkway that gives the university such a memorable backdrop. It is one of those settings that needs very little arranging; the architecture does the work.
From there it was back out to Ingliston Estate & Country Club, where the celebration was waiting to begin. The combination of the white Beauford and the practical comfort of the V-Class meant the whole party moved together, from the lodges to the chapel and home again, without a single moment of waiting around.
It was a smooth, sunlit day from first pick-up to the start of the party, and exactly the kind of wedding the cars are made for.
